of Sale
Full payment, including any extra applicable
shipping charges is required upon placement
of the order. No work will proceed until
payment is received. No refunds are
given once your order has been verified.
No partial refunds for work not completed.
Any order placed for full color printing,
at the promotional price, cannot be
divided in lots. For example, placing
an order for 6000 business cards must
be of the same name or artwork. The
order cannot be divided into 3 orders
of 2000 cards each.
Refund Policy
All sales are final. No refunds are
available on orders unless no files
have been sent to press, no artwork
has been started, and the refund is
requested the same business day that
the order was placed. We maintain the
right to decide the issuing of refunds.
In the case of a refund on an order
that work has not started, a $20 USD
processing fee will be charged.
File Requirements
All images, after being enlarged or
reduced for reproduction, will crop
approximately 1/16" to 1/8"
to allow for bleed. See the Digital
Checklist for more details. We cannot
process orders that do not meet the
minimum requirements. Any artwork that
needs to be fixed to allow for 1/8"
bleed may incur charges to the client.
Turnaround Times
We start counting the turnaround time
when you send your order to press. If
you order a hard copy proof, turnaround
begins when we receive proof approval.
Allow additional business days for delivery
based on the shipping method you selected.
Business days are Monday through Friday.
Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays do not
count when calculating turnaround.
Turnaround does not begin until acceptable
artwork has been provided. Please note
that if we are unable to print your
files because they do not conform to
our file requirements, your job status
will return to "On Hold-Need Artwork"
and your turnaround time will be reset.
For jobs that do not have complete digital
source files provided, turnaround begins
when we have the photos and artwork
needed to print your business card or
postcard, not from when the order is
first submitted.
UVM Design assumes no responsibility
for delays caused by delivery carriers
or any damages resulting from the failure
to receive a job on time. Our expected
delivery date is not guaranteed. Your
order may arrive late due to unforeseen
delays in delivery service, the breakdown
of equipment, illness, etc.
Changing files that
have been sent to press
Once a job has been sent to press,
no changes are allowed to the artwork,
job characteristics, or turnaround time.
If the order has not yet gone to press,
the sole remedy available is to cancel
the order, pay the $20 USD cancellation
fee and place a new order.
Complaints
All complaints must be registered within
24 hours of receipt of job. We maintain
the right to judge what a manufacturing
error or defect is. In the case of a
requested reprint of an order (due to
error), UVM Design will make the final
decision regarding the reprint. In such
a case, the previously printed materials
must be shipped back to UVM Design at
the expense of the client.
Proofs
You are 100% responsible for the accuracy
of your layouts. Please proofread all
layouts carefully. UVM Design is not
responsible for typographic or design
errors once you have approved the artwork.
Your approval may be in the form of
an email or fax stating that the artwork
is approved.
UVM Design will reproduce color from
submitted transparencies, slides, photos,
or digital layouts as closely as possible,
but cannot exactly match color and density
because of limitations in the printing
process, as well as neighboring image
ink requirements. Scanning of submitted
transparencies, slides or photos may
incur extra costs to the client. We
accept no responsibility for color variations
between submitted images and the actual
artwork or product they represent.
Finishing (corners)
UVM Design cannot be held responsible for imperfections in rounded corner business cards. We do our best to provide the best rounded corners we can. However, the process we use for rounded corners is a manual process, and as such, can be imperfect. If perfect rounded corners are required, a die and diecutting fee will be charged, along with additional production delays.
Artwork (including free and paid designs)
Any artwork used in the production of your business card remains the property of UVM Design Inc. This production includes orders that are either paid design work or "free" design including the UVM signature. The artwork includes backgrounds, stock photography, pictures, fonts and final layered digital files, such as native Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark XPress final files. Upon request, we can supply you with a final, flattened version of your design in JPEG, TIFF or EPS format, at no extra charge. Final working files (layered Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark XPress documents) can be supplied upon request, however extra fees will apply.
Sales Tax
All Canadian orders are subject to GST
sales tax.
Indemnification
The customer will indemnify and hold
harmless the printer, UVM Design, from
any and all loss, cost expense, and
damages on any and all manner of claims,
demands, actions and proceeding that
may be instituted against the printer
on the grounds alleging that said printing
violates any copyright or any proprietary
right of any person.
You certify that you own the rights
to use the image(s) being reproduced
on your order.
Delivery
Quoted turnaround times start when we
verify your order, provided we have
the photos and artwork needed to print
your postcard, not from when the order
is first submitted. Turnaround times
vary and are not guaranteed. Our expected
delivery date is not guaranteed. Your
order may arrive late due to unforeseen
delays in delivery service, the breakdown
of equipment, illness, etc.
Shipments to the continental United
States, and any other country, may incur
extra duty charges once the shipment
passes customs. Upon placing your order,
you certify that you will accept any
duty or brokerage charges placed on
your order by border customs or the
courrier company.
